AI 101 Introduction to AI (1 credit)
This one-credit course serves as an informal introduction to the topic of Artificial Intelligence, the questions it raises about its impact on society in the present age, the professional opportunities it affords and the risks it brings with it. The course is mandatory for AI Majors but is also available to other interested students. Its main purpose is to establish common ground for the students in the Major, enable them to begin to think about a range of core questions arising in the context of AI, and understand the structure and value of the Major. It also is designed to build a community of AI students and instructors teaching in the Major, and to encourage students to explore the professional opportunities afforded by their degree from the outset.

AI 453 AI Culminating Seminar (3 credits)
Pre-Req: AI 101, CS 230, CS 250, CS 370, MA 214, PH 160, or instructor permission
This mandatory course serves as the capstone for AI Major students in their final year. It is designed to synthesize the knowledge, skills, and experiences in artificial intelligence (AI) the students have acquired from other courses in the AI for Innovation major program. The course takes a seminar format that couples exploration of the latest advancements in AI and their applications across business and related domains with discussion of the opportunities and risks afforded by AI that is informed by readings in the arts and sciences. Throughout the semester, students will work on a group project in which they integrate and apply their knowledge and skills to develop an AI-based solution to a real-world problem in the form of MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) or system prototypes.
