Minor in Health Industries

Health is a central force shaping organizations, economies, and everyday life. The Health Industries Minor introduces students to the scientific principles underlying human health and disease, and to the ways these principles inform decision making across the health sector and related industries. The minor provides students with a structured foundation in individual and population health, health systems, and emerging health-related challenges that influence how health services and innovations are developed, evaluated, and implemented.

Grounded in the core sciences of health, the minor develops students' ability to critically evaluate health-related evidence, understand interactions among biological, technological, and social factors, and interpret the implications of innovation within complex health systems. Students explore how scientific knowledge shapes discussions of access, equity, risk, and long-term outcomes without requiring extensive technical or professional prerequisites. By building fluency in health science and its real-world applications, the Health Industries Minor enables students to engage thoughtfully with health-related issues and to better understand the role health plays in organizational and societal outcomes.
