Minor in English and Media Studies

A Minor in English and Media Studies gives undergraduate students opportunities to develop skills in the critical analysis and the creation of cultural texts. EMS minors cultivate their ability to read and evaluate critically, to communicate effectively in writing and speech, to create media, and to navigate the business of media. Students must take any four courses in English and Media Studies beyond the required Critical Reading and Writing and Multimodal Communication courses. The minor offers students flexibility to pursue their interest within or across areas of study such as communications, writing, and rhetoric; creative writing; cultural studies; literature and cinema; media production; or media studies.

For further information about policies related to minors, see the Program Policies page.
